Pioneers of Chinuch Award
Rabbi Uri Feldman embodies dedication to Jewish education as Menahel of Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael. His education training is grounded in prestigious institutions such as the Talmudical Yeshiva of Philadelphia and Beth Medrash Govoha of Lakewood. He went on to obtain a Master’s in Jewish Education and Administration from YU Azrieli Graduate School. Raised in families of educators, Rabbi Feldman and his wife Dina have given their hearts along with their expertise to build the yeshiva up from a few students to the success it is today. Mrs. Feldman, with degrees in special education and English literacy, serves as General Studies Principal and Special Education Director at the Torah Academy Girls’ division. Together, they have inspired a generation of Jewish leaders, earning recognition as Pioneers of Chinuch Award recipients in Boston.

Community Leadership Award
Dr. Noam Wasserman was the founding chairman of Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael, defining the mission of excellence in all areas. He’s a role model for students: highly regarded in his field and never seen without his gemara. Dr. Wasserman is currently Dean of YU’s Sy Syms School of Business, having previously taught entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School and the University of Southern California. His field of expertise is start-ups. The Yeshiva is the beneficiary of his expertise. Dr. Chana Wasserman, a respected obstetrician-gynecologist, epitomizes selfless chessed. Together, they model truly humble leadership. The Wassermans are the proud parents of a Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael alumnus and hosted their nephew for 2 years so he could attend YOY. In recognition of their unwavering commitment to education and community service, the Wassermans are being honored with the Community Leadership Award.
