DR. and Mrs. Shlomo and Tamar Faintuch

Keser Shem Tov Award

Dr. Shlomo and Tammy Faintuch are exemplars of the middos that we strive to develop in Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael students.  Professionally, Dr. Faintuch is an interventional radiologist who treats patients with respect and calmness. Mrs. Faintuch is a social worker, offering mental health support with tremendous compassion and kindness.  While busy, Dr. Faintuch manages to have many chavrusas throughout the week and is a model for YOY students.  All who know Dr. Faintuch are able to see how he prioritizes Torah learning and how his accomplishments are celebrated by his family.  Mrs. Faintuch has been involved, in her very quiet and unassuming way, with many chesed opportunities in the community.  The Faintuchs are the proud parents of three wonderful children who follow their example of humble chesed, one of whom is graduating from Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael this year.  

Mr. Andrew WiEner

Volunteer of the Year Award

Mr. Andrew Wiener is a cherished member of the Greater Boston Jewish community, known for his warmth, generosity, and tireless commitment to community. As the owner of the celebrated Catering by Andrew, he has set the standard for exceptional kosher cuisine and service in New England for over four decades.

Through both his professional and personal life, Andrew became involved with YOY, always eager to lend a hand and support the school’s mission. In 2021, he shared his passion for skiing by founding the popular YOY Ski Club, organizing and personally leading trips to Wachusett Mountain. He also launched a golf club that offered students another fun and active outlet.

Whether he’s welcoming students at his shul, learning with Rabbi Feldman in the Beis Medrash, or lending his culinary expertise to help YOY fundraisers and programs shine, Andrew leads by example. We are proud to honor Mr. Andrew Wiener with the Volunteer of the Year Award.
