Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Novoseller addresses the students
A Shabbos of Warmth and Unity
Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael students experienced a special local Shabbaton at the Yeshiva. Shabbos began with a melodious Kabbalas Shabbos in the Beis Medrash. From there, students joined their Rabbeim and their families for Friday night seudos in their homes, sharing divrei Torah and heartfelt zemiros. Later that night, the whole Yeshiva gathered in Rabbi Feldman’s home for a lively oneg Shabbos and learning session.
After Shacharis, students enjoyed being hosted by families in the community and then gathered back at the Yeshiva for learning and shalosh seudos. The Shabbaton concluded with a spirited Melava Malka around a fire pit, bringing everyone together for song and connection.
The warmth of Shabbos pulled our Yeshiva community even closer together and helped build the achdus that has gotten us off to a great start this year!
Professor Joe Jacobson welcomes students to the MIT Media Lab
Trip to MIT Media Lab
Students had the unique opportunity to enjoy a private tour led by MIT Professor Joe Jacobson of the renowned MIT Media Lab. The limited tour spots filled up quickly, and eager students gathered on a Sunday afternoon for this exciting experience.
One of the tour’s highlights was a visit to a lab at the forefront of prosthetics research. There, students heard from a double amputee who shared how innovations in prosthetics are not only enhancing mobility but also making the experience of using artificial limbs more natural. It was a truly memorable and educational trip, inspiring students with real-world applications of cutting-edge technology.
